Well how did it get to this then..........?
The company of Abbey Foods very originally started in 1820 with a butchery and slaughterhouse in Leighton Buzzard, WM Yirrell (still there in Old Road, Linslade). Fast forward 150 years, and in 1995 we created Abbey Cheese so now specialising in both cheese and meats. After Covid, we realised we had also started to source many other products , and continue to do so, being directed by our customers needs. We are a family company, and specialise in doing it right, first time, on time. Whilst we are on social media, and are continually updating our technology, we still like to keep close to our most valued asset, you, our customers with the spoken word. Steve Burwood
Steve has been working in the food industry for the last 40 years. He has extensive experience in sales and the food industry, supplying the likes of Tesco, Costco, Carnival Cruises to name but a few, and has huge experience in running sales teams, of which he will be leading here
David Allen
David started commercial life working for McCain as they first came to the UK, 35 years ago. He then started a fish wholesaling business from the world famous Billingsgate Market, then opening an industrial patisserie supplying the HORECA sector. In 2011 he started representing overseas companies here in the UK, where we are getting even more active in this last challenging year
